UniFi Bakal Tiba Di Kelantan Hujung Tahun Ini

KUALA LUMPUR: Unifi services are being extended to Kelantan following work to upgrade transmitters in Kota Baharu and expected to begin by year-end, said Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Jailani Johari.

He said extension of the fibre optic Internet service had entered the next phase, with IP (Internet Protocol) core infrastructure ready in several locations in the state.
"Unifi services in Kelantan is implemented in phases by Telekom Malaysia under the High Speed Broadband (HSBB) programme.

"When the transmitters are upgraded, which should be by the end of the year, it will allow Unifi services to operate in the state," he said in reply to a question from Ahmad Baihaki Atiqullah (PAS-Kubang Kerian) on the service during the question and answer session at the Dewan Rakyat today.

Commenting further, Jailani said fixed line broadband (Streamyx) was currently available in most areas in Kelantan with speeds of 4MB/per second and 8MB/per second, depending on the client's location.
Jailani said this showed the government has never neglected states ruled by the opposition, including Kelantan, and continued to provide them services for their wellbeing. -- BERNAMA
